BEST enchilada sauce EVER
Enchilada Sauce
Thick, rich, and hearty with an authentic homemade taste. We use this delicious enchilada sauce as a base for several dishes. Our favorite use it to make pork enchilada casserole.We also use it for regular rolled enchiladas.Bonus: We also use this enchilada sauce as a base for chili. Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp flour
- 3 Tbsp chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- pinch salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 24 ounces tomato sauce
- 8 ounces water
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients
- Combine flour and spices in a small bowl
- Heat oil to medium heat in a saucepan – Do Not Boil
- Whisk in spice mixture – a little at a time – whisking constantly
- Add tomato sauce and water – a little at a time – whisking constantly
- Cover and simmer – stirring occasionaly for 10 minutes or until thick
